We are currently accepting nominations for all officer positions for the HOT Bears Board of Directors. We have several nominations, but still need a few more people interesting in directing the club for the upcoming year. Nominations can be made in person, by email, snail mail, heck even pony express….and must be made by March 4th (30 days prior to the April Quarterly meeting). So if you are interested…contact any officer today!
With the closing of the Rusty Spur, and the loss of the Spurs-n-Fur beer bust, the HOT Bears announce the return of the Sunday afternoon Beer Bust at the Chain Drive. And this past Sunday (February 13th) our regualr Beer Bust took a bit of a twist. The Chain Drive…along with BearUps productions, and Hoboken Pie threw the HOT Bears an appreciation keg party as a way of saying THANK YOU to the bears for making Chain Drive their home bar. The weather was nice, and the bust was held on the back patio, with the view of the city skyline in the backdrop…and classic rock/pop tunes jamming on the patio speakers.
The first keg of beer, furnished by Dave McGill, the manager of the Chain Drive, was complimentary to the crowd, and was very much appreciated by all. One of the HOT Bears newest sponsors, Hoboken Pies, fed the group with 10 large FREE pizzas. Prizes furnished by Bird’s Barber Shop, Midtowne Spas, Fleshjack, and more….were also raffled out to a very appreciative crowd.
A great time was had, so be sure to join us next month.
We know yall had a great time at BEARRACUDA last month…and we hope you had a good time at the HOT Bears Trailer Trash Brush on Sunday following the big event. The HOT Bears very own Rhea Sisters hosted the event, and as you can tell, they had a good time. We also signed up new members to the group, and we ate some tasty treats served up “trailer” style….courtesy of Buscuits and Groovy and Lucky J’s Chicken and Waffles. Tito’s vodka made for some tasty Boody “Hairy’s” too! Many thanks to all the guys from BEARRACUDA!!!!
And now a word from our TCC liason….Peter Reid
Many of you have enjoyed the annual campout at Texas Conference of Clubs “Back to the Woods.” It’s a great weekend and one that I look forward too every year. There are other events at TCC you may like to consider. One of them takes place over Memorial Day weekend. It is called LoneStar.
This year, LoneStar # 23 will be a Carnival Themed 4 day 3 night campout. The current fee includes a campsite, food, beer, cocktail parties, games, and all of the camaraderie you can expect from a long weekend run. Of course there are accommodations available in the bunkhouse as well as spaces for trailers. The two shows put on will include a contest for Mr, MS, and Miss LoneStar. The event typically gets 100+ attendees.
Open to anyone over 21, LoneStar is put on by all member clubs across Texas including: Austin Gay Nudists, Bound by Desire, Chain of Command, TCC Independents, Cowtown Leathermen, Misfits, Discipline Corps, Heart Of Texas Bears, Houston Area Bears, LoneStar Leathermen, Dallas Motor Cycle Corps, Colt 45’s, Touch of Leather, and Trinity River Bears. Lead my your truly, the HOT Bears have been asked to make the Saturday morning breakfast.
I would love to have my fellow club members join me for the weekend. It’s a great way to kick off the summer. If you have any questions about the event, please feel free to email me direct. Flyfsh_peter@yahoo.com
Goodbye 2010….HELLO 2011!!
It’s a new year for us here at the HOT Bears and we hope it will be a good one…not only for the club (so far so good!) but you as a member as well. It is with this hope that we make a fresh commitment, not only to ensure plenty of fun events for you to enjoy, but that your membership in the HOT Bears is a value to you.
We are currently working on ways to improve existing events (beer busts, UNRUN, etc…) and add new ones. One area we really want to work on this year is adding more home based events, such as movie nights, game nights, cookouts, and the like. We realize that bar related events aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, and eating out can be expensive. So we would like to have more opportunities where the group can meet up at peoples homes (or other venues), get to know each other, and create those long lasting bonds where friendships are made. We have had really good response to this and the last couple of events have been well received. So if you have a place and want to host a get-together….let any of the officers know and we can work with you to make it a fun time. Even if you don’t have a place but know someone who does, and still want to co-host an event…we can work with you as well.
We look forward to the upcoming year, and we want to make it a really good one. With your help and support, we know that its possible. And as always, remember….this is YOUR club…and YOUR input is important to us.
Here’s to 2011…..let’s get started.
On Saturday, January 22nd, Bearracuda RETURNS to Austin for another big night of fur, friendly guys & fun! Our last visit to Austin couldn’t have gone better, but there is always room for MORE. He’s been our dance floor filler in San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, New Orleans, Atlanta, Vancouver and beyond. He’ll be kicking off the night at 9pm. Flying over from San Francisco, we welcome DJ/Producer: MATT CONSOLA. Over the last 20+ years, he’s had an exciting career playing memorable events across the country and across the world. Last September, he had the honor of opening for The Pet Shop Boys at The Warfield for thei…r Pandemonium World Tour September 22nd & 23rd 2009.
Bearracuda is the largest attended bear dance party in the United States w/regular parties in San Francisco, Seattle, LA & Portland as well as one offs in Atlanta, Vancouver and Sydney. Is it just me, or does it seem like 2010 has flown by? It seems as though we were celebrating a new year just a few months ago. I guess that happens when you get older…LOL. This last month or so has kept us here at the HOT Bears pretty busy…a late summer pool party (THANKS Joe and Tom), the usual bear events, and of course Back To The Woods 6 (B2W6). If you did not make this years camp-out, you missed a really good time. The weather was PERFECT! We had 131 registered attendees, with many of them being first timers too! The show was a HOOT with many laughs and new performers. (FYI…we will watch the DVD of the show at this years Holiday Party…so make sure to be there for that.) There were also fond remembrances too of Ed, Kiwi, and Richard…..who were greatly missed by everyone. Texas Redbud trees to commemorate their lives were planted in the Bear Garden so that all campers to TCC can enjoy the beauty and remember them as well.
I want to take this opportunity to welcome all the new members that have joined in the last couple of months as well. It is our hope that as you get plugged in, you will get to know a new friend or two by attending one of the many events listed in the calendar (see link above).. After all, that is why the club was created. If you have any suggestions on events that you would like to see us do, please feel free to drop us a line, or catch us at one of the monthly planning meetings. They are open to all club members and your participation makes our club even better!
